American Soul tells the story of the struggle to make the dream of Soul Train come true. Set in the early 1970's, filled with music, dance, fashion and glamour, this is the untold story of the launch of the first nationally syndicated Black music show and what happened when the music stopped.
Through vibrant colors, dance and fashion this key art portrays our campaign theme of Black American Dreaming. The layout is a mixture of low angle portraits of dancers, photographed through plexiglass, and a contrasting shot of Don Cornelius, the visionary who made the Soul Train dream possible.
The key art inspired a successful national campaign that sparked conversations about the iconic era, and the impact of Soul Train on popular culture.
