To raise awareness on the issue of gun violence in Canada and Toronto in particular, the Coalition for Gun Control launched a grassroots campaign titled Trigger Change. A variety of attention-grabbing pieces, including out-of-home posters, were used to drive Canadians to TriggerChange.ca where they were asked to sign a petition banning the civilian sale of handguns and military assault weapons.
We created a series of out-of-home posters and location-based headlines designed to stop passersby in their tracks and direct them to them towards our petition. The posters were placed throughout prominent neighbourhoods in Toronto.
The posters were in circulation in the week before the official launch of the campaign and remained for the duration. The petition is still receiving signatures as the Coalition for Gun Control continues to fight for a handgun and military style assault weapon ban.
