The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) was established to provide water and sewer services for communities in the southeast portion of the state of Michigan. Our goal was to create an identity for this new organization.
GLWA’s mission is to take water from Lake Huron, treat it and deliver it to their customers, then return the water to the lake in better condition than it was when it was originally. To represent this we created an identity that symbolizes this process. The logo is made up of water drops. As they move downward they change from dark to light, giving the impression of filtration and clean water. To make the identity even more unique and ownable for GLWA the water drops create a “W” and an “A,” for Water Authority.
The client is very pleased with their logo. GLWA has even created a video and materials that explain their organization and mission through the symbolism of the logo.
