The assignment was to make a logo for Vitale Vitamins, where the logo combines an object with a letterform together to make a cohesive unique trademark.

I started out with thinking about forms of plants and anything natural that could make up a letter. I thought about taking the fern plant and taking two leaves and putting it together to create the shape of the letter "V". I rendered each leaf from the stem to make the form feel more realistic, I made the stems invisible so the eye follows through the leaf form and it makes in the negative space a "V" letter. Lastly I added a little more detail to the type of the title on the bottom to connect with the flow of the mark that is sitting on top only with the letters "V" and "A" in the word "VITALE".

The mark successfully combines the object and letterform together to make a unique and cohesive trademark solution.
