Our assignment was to design the brand identity and packaging for a new co-working space located in Downtown Mobile, Alabama. With a growing number of new businesses in the area, Downtown has become a more desirable location for both living and working — especially amongst millennials. With this in mind, Exchange 202’s brand design needed to reflect the dynamic of the audience and the changing nature of Mobile, Alabama.
When it came to creating a visual solution, the word “exchange” provided plenty of visual associations with which to work. The interaction of shapes and colors in the final logo represent the collaboration that exists in the space. Since the environment of Exchange 202 is progressive, we chose a palette of bright colors that correspond with the predominately green and blue interior décor of the space itself. The stack san serif type continues the mood of modernism and freshness. All of these elements come together in a logo that is approachable and energetic.
The space has been a resounding success. The brand design was leveraged to help create pre-opening buzz with posters, merch and promotion. Within a matter of weeks, the logo was seemingly omnipresent Downtown — and within a matter of months, the space was filled with members and member companies. The first-year revenue goals were surpassed in six months.
