Assignment
Pose revolves around the Harlem ball culture of the mid 1980’s, which was both a celebration and send-up of super models from the pages of magazines, like Vogue. The people who “walk” the balls are gay and transgender people of color. They do not feel seen, accepted or beautiful in their everyday lives, but when they “walk” they feel like their most authentic and most glamorous, beautiful selves.
Approach
We wanted to capture and even heighten that feeling of authenticity and glamor in our marketing campaign. Pose features the largest transgender cast ever assembled for a scripted series. Our campaign features the main transgender female characters looking and feeling their most glamorous. Elektra is one of the main transgender female characters in the show and is featured here looking and feeling her most glamorous. In this photo by Pari Dukovic, she is featured in one of her signature Vogue poses, towering over the competition.
Results
The key art campaign was extremely well-received and the show was far more successful than anticipated.
