NAIL’s mission is to look at the lives of creatives in the world. We’re interested in how talented, committed, empathetic people get through the day. How we survive and, more than that, thrive, looking beyond to greater ambitions and desires.
The design approach for NAIL was more-or-less anything goes. We were trying to avoid being precious, taking inspiration from publications like Adbusters with a jarring visual approach befitting the moment (six months after the election of Donald Trump). No grid, garish colors, over-sharpened images, dated or quirky fonts. It was a blast making it.
First issue was well received.
