Modular Grotesk is a display typeface inspired by the Bauhaus school. The letterforms are based on the typography of Joost Schmidt, who included a four story "E" on one of his exhibition posters. A multi-story system of capitals encourages Gropius's ideal use of lowercase while also creating modular shapes that can be employed to create patterns and 3-D shapes.
