Michelle Bowers specializes in multi-disciplinary work that includes typography, illustration, photography and design. She currently teaches design and typography at the College of Visual and... Performing Arts University of Massachusetts–Dartmouth, USA. Founder/Director of the summer workshop Make Effect, work published in Understanding Theory and Application, by John Bowers (no relation), presented typography workshops for AIGA Boston and SOTA TypeCon, presented public lectures most notable: the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, created a typeface for Rick Valicenti’s typography website Playground and its publication in Jennifer Cole Phillips and Ellen Lupton‘s book Graphic Design: The New Basics. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications and has been recognized by the AIGA, TDC, SOTA, UCDA, HOW, Adobe and STEP Inside Design.
