Biography/Work Experience

Matitegiovanotte is a design and communication atelier established in Forlì (Italy) in 1986 by two young designers, Giovanni Pizzigati and Barbara Longiardi. Our name was chosen for a simple reason: the love for the tools used for our work, pencils (“matite”), our young age (21 and 24 years) and the bond with the territory, Romagna, which uses the dialectal term "giovanotto" to refer to the boys and girls who are going to become adults. It's been 30 years since then, we were present in almost one hundred international design and communication pubblication, we won about ten awards (the first, an international one, in Amsterdam in 1992 for NonProfit campaign) and many short-list. “Matite” are increased and many creatives from Italy and abroad were “Matite” with us in Forlì. They contributed in our growth and our training. Today the studio in Forlì deals with marketing (online and offline), communication (atl and btl), web and events for companies, institutions and nonprofit organizations. And they do it every day with energy, creativity and positive expertise.

Corporate identity: design and communication of corporate identities, stationary, uniforms, promotional gadgets, and signage for vehicles. Brand identity: brand design, logotypes, flyers, brochures, posters, billboards, packaging, calendars, invitations. Advertising: strategies, communications plans, media plans, design and implementation of advertising and marketing campaigns. Publishing: design of brochures, magazines, annual reports, manuals, monographs, newsletters, books. Multimedia products: App design, web design (webdesign, e-commerce, socialnetwork) Installations: conferences, art exhibitions, cultural events, showrooms, tradeshow stands, retail outlets. Promotion at Point of Sale: Design of all communication materials at point of purchase including counter signs and window displays, decals, counter and floor displays, customised corners. Copywriting: naming research for products and product lines, advertising copy, press releases.

Powered by Pubblicità Progresso in cooperation with the Cariplo Foundation, ONP Award. 2011 Good 50x70 ", an international competition that promotes creativity in social communications. 2010 First place in the PWI Award Web Italia, technology section 2009 Zetema, merchandising competition for Civic Museums, sponsored by the Department for Culture and Communication and the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage for the City of Rome. 2008 Silver Award in the Agorà Prize for communications by the University of Bergamo 2007 First Place at EuroInterim and Medal from the President of the Republic 2007 Milan, World Graphic Day 2007 international exhibition dedicated to children around the world 2007 Milan Triennale - Good 50x70 ", an international competition that promotes creativity in social communications. Posters were designed for the "human rights" category and "AIDS” category. 2007 Italian Renaissance, exhibitions, conferences, performances, workshops and publications on the theme of communications and how creativity impacts culture and economic development
