Self taught Photographer with studies in Audiovisual Advertising in Madrid, and Pedagogical Science in Caracas. His commercial work covers an extensive list of corporations, small firms and individuals. For the last 20 years he has worked independently for advertising agencies in commercial photography, and at the same time, he had developed his own language for his personal artistic portraiture work.
Philosophy on Work
LIGHT The more layers of meaning one adds in images, the deeper and longer lasting the dialogue with the viewer. An image with text and subtext stays in the mind and keeps the conversation going after days. And that´s why I believe in studying how the great masters of painting used light: light has the power to speak densely or lightly, and always engagingly. I believe in meticulous sets: detail speaks in beautiful adjectives. I believe some of the best conversations are about shared experiences or experiences one would love to share: that´s why I focus on portraits and endlessly try to distill deeply felt experiences, lived or dreamed, from them. Deeply felt experiences make great conversations and what I´m passionately trying to do, is speak through the camera, long, deep and often beautiful conversations.
