Bio:
Li Zhang is a professor at Purdue University, a director at the China Europe International Design Culture Association, and an internationally recognized designer, juror, and... speaker. Professor Zhang has been designated as a Fellow Expert of the China Foreign Experts Bureau, an Honorary Professor at five universities, and an Olympic research fellow and consultant at the Art Research Centre for the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Professor Zhang's work has been extensively exposed worldwide, with over two hundred exhibitions/publications in more than forty countries across five continents. Zhang has exhibited in all the six world’s most important poster biennales and triennials: Warsaw (Poland), Fort Collins (USA), Mexico City (Mexico), Moscow (Russia), Trnava (Slovakia), and Sofia (Bulgaria). In addition, Zhang has been invited to exhibit alongside a small select group of highly accomplished designers like Paula Scher, Maviyane-Davis Chaz, Davis Paul, Luba Lukova, and many fine designers. Such invitations underscore Zhang's standing and reputation within the design field. Zhang has also been recognized with more than fifty significant design awards such as the First Prize in Domtar Creative Awards (The only first prize over all categories), The World’s Most Memorable Poster Competition’s Top One Award in the USA, Award of Design Excellence in Print (20,000 entries), Second Prize in the Computer Space (0.5%), Gold Medal Award in Creativity, and Gold Awards in Graphis (“honor the very best in Design on a global scale.”).
