Graphis: One of the wonderful aspects of your work is that you are not limited to one particular subject matter or style. You shoot portraits, still life, editorial... How do you think the different styles and subjects compliment one another? Are you a better Photographer as a result?
HL: My curiosity is fed by everything that goes on around me, the city I live in and the places I visit. I am constantly on the lookout for people and objects that could make a great picture. I feel that my Photography evolves because I allow myself to experiment all the time. I am never really satisfied. I try to always do better and I love to discover new techniques. I like the idea that I am able to be in the studio one day shooting a portrait and the next working on a series of still lifes. It keeps me on my toes. Complacency is never an option.
