Brooke Astor, Patron of the Arts


Arts patron Brooke Astor passed away August 13th at her home in Briarcliff Manor, New York. She was 105. Known as New York's unofficial first lady, Ms. Astor was a respected philanthropist, dedicated to helping the city's poor and celebrating and cultivating the arts. She was a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Morgan Library and Museum, Rockefeller University and honorary chairwoman of the New York Public Library.
