Having outgrown a living room, a garage, and a range of office spaces of ever-increasing square footage, BRIGADE had a great deal to celebrate for their tenth anniversary in 2016. As a part of the celebration, BRIGADE honored their secret to on-going success: drinking wine. Since Art/Science is what makes their agency tick, BRIGADE created a limited-edition wine bottle to embody their mythos.
The agency’s reputation for outstanding design is defined by a two-pronged approach to creative, which they call Art/Science. Art represents the beauty and aesthetics of their work; while science refers to the pixel-obsessed attention to detail that goes into every design they create.
On the side titled ’10 Years of Art’, a bold and cohesive logo mark dominates the bottle. This mark is important as it is inspired by the brand’s award-winning identity from 2015, representing the agency’s strength in sum of their many parts.
On the reverse side of the bottle, that same logo mark is deconstructed using negative space to reveal the precision that is behind the aesthetic – fitting, as this side is titled ’10 Years of Science’. Within the precise grids, cut lines, and registration marks are small nods to the agency’s ten-year history, including past street addresses and fun jabs at agency clichés.
The design is an embodiment of the agency’s Art/Science philosophy and reflects this with artwork that is uniquely printed on two sides of the bottle. Pairing the design with delicious Cabernet Franc from Black Birch Vineyard and beautiful ceramic-printed wine bottles produced by Universal Packaging, BRIGADE’s Ten Year Anniversary bottle was a successful celebration – of an agency, for an agency, by an agency.
