"Sarajevo 100 (1914-2014)" was an international invitational project that commemorated the beginning of the First World War in 1914 after assassination of Archduke Franc Ferdinand in Sarajevo.
Drinking coffee is common part of socialising in the region, especially in Sarajevo. On the poster, traditional coffee pot is made by letters with text "Sarajevo 1914-2014". Coffee has just started to spill over the "pot" as metaphor for unwanted events that started 100 years ago. But it could be metaphor for recent unwanted events, massive protests of citizens of Sarajevo during 2014, too. Instead of pot handle there is an question mark to emphasise that turning point.
The result is poster with text as part of the image. This can lead to an outcome that is memorable as a result of the careful conjuring of design implication, in companion with literal meaning.
