Each year, Lesli Ink creates unique cards for our clients to make their holidays a little more special. We’ve made it our mandate to send out holiday messages that spread happiness and beauty through design. This year, we were enchanted by old manuscripts and gilded lettering, and this inspiration translated into our cards. Our team has always loved the look and feel of etched wood, so we settled on the idea of individual laser cut cards adorned with our custom letters.
To kick start the project, we visited the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library and stumbled upon a treasure trove of rare manuscripts that strongly inspired this year’s theme. We extended this to a website where recipients of the card were directed to enter their name and unlock their own quest generated from the letters in their name. We also created 2 Instagram campaigns. The first was a whimsical riddle guessing game where winners received homemade cookies, and the second campaign rewarded winners with cards for themselves and a friend.
The response from our clients and loved ones has been overwhelming and we have seen many instances of our laser etched holiday messages adorning people’s trees, mantles and work spaces. Our holiday website garnered loads of online traction and both Instagram campaigns were a huge success. The interactive nature of both the website and these campaigns encouraged a high level of engagement with the Lesli Ink brand as a whole and everyone had a blast solving our holiday riddles.
