Design a poster campaign for the theatre production Ont-heemd. Ont-heemd (meaning: displaced) is a visual and musical theatre performance about feeling displaced. The performance is about how you survive when you have nothing left. Uprooted and alienated. Drowning in the mass. In an unknown environment. Looking for a space.
This theatre performance is about feeling displaced. With the design of this campaign Studio Lonne Wennekendonk visualizes the oppressive atmosphere of the performance. In the poster one of the actors is standing in the emptiness of the 6000m2 location where the performance takes place. The spiky black sphere is floating through the space and pushes the actor to the background. Or is the actor pushing the sphere away? With this strange and intense image, the poster gives the viewer the heavy, displaced feeling the performance is about. The review on the poster is from a well-known magazine in Rotterdam, Gers! magazine: ‘A performance on location that grabs you straight to the throat.’
According to artistic leader Paul Röttger, the poster is the perfect visualization of the feeling the performance gives to the audience. And also important: the first performances are already sold out.
