I was tasked with designing the branding and promotional materials for the 2016 SECAC Art Educator Conference in Roanoke, Virginia. This included the conference program, a notebook, the visuals for the Crowd Compass App (for iPhone, Android, and Tablets), name badges, signage, and tote bags.
The two most important factors in developing a the 2016 SECAC brand were 1) cohesion across diverse materials (both print and digital) and 2) clarity.
Beyond that, I strove to create a clean, energetic brand that connected to Arts and Technology.
The final brand consisted of a wordmark for "SECAC" and a pattern that could be used throughout the various materials. Both the pattern and the letterforms are based on the same underlying triangular grid pattern. The overall structure for the wordmark is based on Gotham, which is the typeface used throughout the materials (which was chosen because of the high legibility).
