The Progressive Corporation ranks third in the nation for auto insurance, with more than 11 million customers. The company offers competitive rates and makes 24-hour, in-person and online services available to drivers throughout the United States and Canada. For the past 15 years, The Progressive Corporation has commissioned visual communications firm, Nesnadny + Schwartz (N+S), to create its online annual report. The firm’s role has been to develop the conceptual and visual direction, create the overall design, and manage production from inception to launch.
To express the 2014 Progressive Online Annual Report conceptual direction of “eras,” N+S designed the website around a travel and traffic theme and commissioned and partnered with Lee Friedlander, an iconic photographer who has been photographing the American social landscape for over six decades. In that time, he has shown us a look at the road ahead while keeping an eye on the rearview mirror – an appropriate parallel to Progressive’s business strategy.
The 2014 Progressive Online Annual Report is used by the company to communicate with shareholders, employees, potential investors, and analysts, as well as various local, state, and national governmental agencies. The online annual report has been lauded as fresh and innovative, and has received congratulatory reactions from Progressive employees, shareholders, and customers, as well as media and communication outlets.
