The challenge was to design a book that would interest practicing graphic designers, design educators, and design students on the subject of print production. We were asked to make the book look progressive even though it was written to be used as more of a textbook.
The intention for the design of the book was simple; create a celebration of print through the eyes of a designer who's passion lies in print design. Since print lives in a world of tiny dots, we used this simple premise to drive the overall look of the piece. Right down to the display face.
The client's target goal to produce the book on Kickstarter was $30,000. At the end of the campaign, the book was able to garner over $48,000 in sales from interested patrons; well over the target of $30,000.
