Develop packaging for a London Style Dry Gin that from a branding perspective fits into a family of new spirits from Joseph A. Magnus & Co., while also distinguishing itself.
While the Magnus company made gin in the early 20th century, very little is known about the historical design. With that in mind, Studio 32 North decided to take cues from the design of the bourbon packaging, most notably the fluted neck and base, and incorporated that into an elegantly tall gin bottle with a short neck and strong, flared lip at the top. The gin’s name, ingredients and taste description were all incorporated into one seamless design that was screen printed over the tall bottle.
The gin design sits nicely next the bourbon and feels like it belongs, yet offers its own fresh appeal. The client was thrilled to have its second spirit as part of the revitalization of a venerable old brand, Joseph A. Magnus & Co.
