We were tasked with designing a logo for a Mobile, Alabama-based music festival. The festival, named for the intersection where I-65 and I-10 meet, needed to reflect the musical and artistic nature of this city and draw both residents and tourists to a thriving port.
The logo was designed to reflect the aesthetic of the ‘70s/’80s, and is meant to be bold, loud and iconic. The primary logo is yellow, stacked and often seen on a turquoise background. There are variations of the logo that incorporate three other key colors, as well as a horizontal version that can be dropped in smaller spaces like a drum stick. The logo exudes a fun, approachable and ready-to-party atmosphere.
Just in its infancy, the festival is hugely successful, drawing more than 40,000 people to Mobile, AL, from across the country. The logo can be seen on a wide variety of materials, from stage scrims and t-shirts, event posters, outdoor boards to being wrapped around city buses.
