How did you manage to get such great results with this photograph?I shot straight down from my studio ceiling from a ladder. I drew the “T” on my computer and then projected it onto a 12-inch roll of white seamless. I then drew the outline of the letter onto the paper, placed it on the floor and had the dancers stand in it with some directional tweaking. Voila!!!To produce the best work for a client, what is the ideal working relationship between you and an art director or designer? For advertising work, I understand that the commercial image is that of the agency and client and I work hard to achieve meticulous and beautiful results. To do this, one must listen intensely and attempt to really clearly understand the dream of the art direction. How do you balance commercial work and personal work?My goal is to make images that surprise and delight me. Therefore, I spend as much of my creative life as I can doing my own work, exploring the world for which I have a passion. Commercial work supports my personal work and I’ve been blessed to do a sufficient amount to keep me going.
