2015 marked the one hundred year anniversary of the world famous Coca-Cola glass bottle. The creative brief asked to celebrate and pay homage to the shape that was created as a result of a competition that "challenged bottle manufacturers to develop a container recognizable even if broken on the ground or touched in the dark." The myriad of creative explorations that resulted from the campaign demonstrated the range and breadth of ideas that the bottle inspires with designers and creatives around the world.
The ‘hidden’ 100 can be found in ‘plain sight’ within the Coca-Cola Script. The core Coca-Cola design principles of Power of Red, Bold Simplicity, Familiar Yet Surprising, and Authenticity come to life in these print pieces to demonstrate how one of the world's oldest design icons can still be as fresh and engaging as ever. The new aluminum bottle is featured as the next generation of the classic 1915 glass bottle form design.
The final print design was published in prestige arts event programs, magazines, and conference brochures where the Coca-Cola Company and its bottling partners celebrated the specialness of the 100 year anniversary with key audiences.
