'Expose Your Artsy Side' was developed for an internal event, where agency staff were invited to showcase their creative talents by donating a piece of art or craft for auction to raise money for a local charity. The 'Expose Your Artsy Side' campaign invited the entire workplace to step outside of their day-to-day roles and 'expose' the hidden artist or maker that emerges after office hours. Inspired by the growing handmade movement and popularity of craft marketplaces popping up in Toronto, the creative team wanted to focus on 'hobby' artist and craftspeople, emphasizing the surprise, hidden talents of people who work together everyday. The scarf featured in the poster was hand knit by the creative director. The poster received an overwhelmingly positive reaction within the workplace. Both amused and intrigued, staff inquired about the challenge and accepted. Aside from photography and prints, the annual charity art auction saw silk-screened tea towels, knitwear, and hand sewn accessories. 20% more staff participated in 'exposing their artsy side' by donating work to the auction. In the end a successful amount of money was raised for a local charity, in support of the arts.
