This assignment was for The Hatchery, Tyler School of Art's Design Incubator. Students get credit for not only building a brand, but for conceptualizing products and developing a business structure to bring them to market.
Students were tasked with creating a brand (logo, color palette, typography, etc.), products for the brand, packaging, a style guide, a product catalog, and a website. In addition, they built a business plan and plotted their next steps should they actualize their business.
The students created "The Noun Collective," which is a company that manufactures games, toys, and puzzles for children. The name is a play on collective nouns—nouns used for groups of smaller nouns (a parliament of owls, for example). Each product is a reflection of that prompt.
