We created an identity for a new central business district in the heart of one of the fastest-growing regions in Australia. Maroochydore’s identity had to communicate this amazing growth potential to developers and investors, demonstrate why the city will be such a great place to do business and engage the local community with SunCentral’s inspiring vision.
The brand retained the recognisable name Maroochydore but repositioned the city with a new tagline ‘The Bright City’. The warm gradient used on the text and the CGI of the giant M, illuminated as if it were a huge lightbulb, communicate the transformation of Maroochydore into a future focused, vibrant, energised community, the new leading light of the Sunshine Coast and Queensland.
Maroochydore’s identity has successfully engaged the local community, the wider region of the Sunshine coast as well as international oversees investors. In 2016, the Sunshine Coast Mayor travelled to Asia and the U.S. to promote the region’s investment potential, including the new Maroochydore City Centre development. Expressions of Interest for the first stage of the project opened in June 2016 and was supported by national and international investors, developers and business owners.
