Our assignment was to ceate a piece that would showcase the new Heart Institute at Lankenau Medical Center.
New buildings can be spectacular in their design but can be cold, without the community that lives in them. This is especially true in a hospital environment. We wanted to portray the newly built Heart Institute, through its own community. We spent time capturing the character of the hospital through its people by photographing them during a normal working day. Our layouts use the to tell the narrative of a hospital community that works together to help and care for its patients.
The piece has been very well received by staff and the hospital community. The Development office reported a surge in donations and interest in the new Heart Institute. This was a special issue, but Leaders is published 2-3 times annually and has become a sought after publication giving the hospital population a sense of familiarity with their co-workers and regular patients.
